Mystep info is a sophisticated app used on the mobile phone, to analyze your step and other motion measurements, when walking and running. Download the app, register an account, start the app and place the mobile phone in a waist belt, centered on the back, when running or walking.

Your step is analyzed in detail immediately after training along with other measures such as distance, pace and much more. The results are displayed in a list, but also in graphs where you can study your training further. In the graph view, you can study how your movement pattern developed during the workout, based on either time or distance, depending on your interest.

The various movement measurements are displayed both on the mobile phone and on the web after the training. On the website mystep.info you can further study and analyse your results.

Some movement measures that are listed and shown in graphs:
After a walk, e.g. the time distributed on the left and right feet (step time, ground contact time and time for feet in the air), step length, distance, vertical force, step frequency, number of steps, etc. are measured. This is displayed both in the list and in graphs. Asymmetry is calculated as a sum of deviation from symmetry for a number of measures.

After a run, e.g. stride length, vertical force, brake, flight time, vertical movement (bounce), pace are shown. You can also compare graphs in the same view by selecting two different motion parameters. Your route is shown on a map.

You can invite friends to follow each others workouts, or create/participate in a group with friends. You decide how much information is shared.

The app analyzes your motion in a simplified way only by using your mobile phone, placed in a waist belt. No additional equipment is needed, such as separate sensors. So, the full potential of your smartphone is used!

Note regarding performance of the GPS:
The Mystep info app depends partly on the GPS in your mobile to be able to calculate some of the motion parameters after the activity. Some mobile phones do not always receive the GPS signal correctly. The map that shows where you moved and the distance can then be wrong. If location data appears to be incorrect, check if the operating system can be updated to the latest version. On some devices the performance is worse without any known measures and we may limit the installation of the Mystep info app on such devices.
